Meet the South West Supplier | April 2017

Hello Hello Hello!

Welcome to the second edition of our feature blog 'Meet the South West Supplier'. Our next guest is the wonderful and unique PartyBales! We recently saw their bales featured on ITV's 'This Morning' and just had to hear more about what they do! So as always, pop the kettle on and find out more about this great supplier who is loved here in the SW and most of England and South Wales too...

Hello! Tell us about your company and what services you provide.

PartyBales are specialists in Hay and Straw Bale hire.

Which locations do you cover in the South West?

We deliver bales throughout Central, Southern England and South Wales so can deliver to any location in the South West of England.

How long have you been working in this field and how did you get into it?

PartyBales was founded in 2013. The founders received a call at the family farm in Berkshire asking if they could supply bales to a party in London. At the same time they were getting married and noticed that Pinterest and blogs were full of images of bales being used creatively at weddings and events, however, upon research discovered that bales were not as accessible for functions as you would think. Therefore PartyBales was launched to solve the dilemma.

Who are your typical customers, weddings or the event industry?

PartyBales has a whole host of customers, it’s amazing who needs bales and how many different ways they can be used. For weddings generally couples are having a more relaxed and informal wedding. Bales lend themselves perfectly for outdoor, woodland, barn, garden and festival weddings but we have also supplied bales to tree house and boat weddings!

In terms of events, we supply bales to festivals, school fairs, village fetes, balls, experiential and corporate events, private parties and

plays and productions. PartyBales have supplied a number of brands including Innocent, Red Bull, Jack Wills, Lidl, NFU and NSPCC to name but a few.

Our bales are also used for photoshoots and have also appeared on Television on a number of occasions including Channel 4’s Shed of the Year, BBC’s Casulty and BBC 2’s Strictly Come Dancing It Takes Two.

What sets you aside from the rest?

We specialise in hiring bales. Hiring Hay and Straw bales is our priority. We are not distracted by offering a whole host of other products and anything we hire in addition to bales is in the aim of helping our customers to enhance their bale hire offering. We pride ourselves on offering excellent customer service.

What do your customers say about you?

The bales were amazing, guests loved the whole feel of the wedding. Thanks again, I’ve recommended you to several people and the York Club, Windsor Great Park have your details too.” Mr Atkin, Groom

We’re so glad we used PartyBales for our recent event at Regiate Priory Cricket Club. The bales lent a lovely festival feel to our food court and everyone loved them. They looked great and to top it off, PartyBales were an absolute joy to work with. Friendly, professional and incredibly efficient. Highly Recommended and we will certainly be using them again”. Reigate Street Eats.

What do you enjoy most about what you do and what can be the toughest part?

We love working in such a positive industry. Our customers are generally excited and happy about the events, parties and weddings they are organising and tend to be enthusiastic about having bales at their events. It is also fascinating seeing how our customers use the bales they hire from us – when we set PartyBales up we would have never imagined getting an enquiry to put bales on a P&O cruise ship or to build a bale tank for the Royal Tank Regiment.

The toughest part is the British weather!

What are your favourite trends and what is getting you excited in your industry for 2017?

We love the growing Festival Wedding trend, a trend that seems to keep getting bigger each year. A Festival Wedding is a chance for the happy couple to sculpt their wedding however they want, allowing them to really take ownership of a personalised wedding. Festival Weddings give couples so much freedom and also the opportunity to make a wedding to work within their budget.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone planning an event/wedding, what would it be?

Just go with your vision for your wedding or event. It does not matter if it isn’t the ‘norm’ and doesn’t meet the ‘rules’ of tradition. Just go for it!

If you could give one piece of advice to similar suppliers starting out, what would it be?

Don’t give up and work hard– sorry that’s two! It took us 6 months to get an order and we would never have imagined PartyBales would be where it is today.

Well thank you PartyBales. It's been great reading about your journey and we know about your great customer service! We are looking forward to finding your bales outside one of our Bell Tent Play Dens hopefully this wedding season! To our lovely couples who have booked one of our bell tents this year then do have a think about booking with PartyBales too! They can make a great area for your grown-up guests to sit and watch their children and they can make a great barrier to stop little ones running off!
